Cameron's Ex Wins Big at Oscars!
On March 08, 2010
It's official: The Hurt Locker is 2009's Best Picture, beating out James Cameron's Avatar and 8 other notable contenders to win the Oscar. David faced Goliath and went home the victor. What's notable is that Kathryn Bigelow's film not only won for best picture, but took home a total of 6 awards, one of which being Bigelow's own win for Best Director. The win is significant not only because she beat our her ex-husband Cameron for the title, but because this marks the first time ever that a female director has won an Oscar. We here at ReelMovieNews congratulate Kathryn Bigleow on her momentous achievement! The night was a big one for many other stars, including Inglourious Basterds' Christoph Waltz, who won Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Mo'Nique, who won Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Precious, and Jeff Bridges, who took home a well-deserved Oscar for his leading performance in Crazy Heart. Hit the break for a complete list of winners at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards!
